Fininho (PT)

Although he is one of the most important players in the Lisbon music scene, you won´t find Fininho online. Actually he didn´t even have a stage name until a month ago! The reason for this is that he was still recently one of the two figures behind the renown Celeste/Mariposa, the Lisbon-based Dj-duo, Label and Promoter of Lusophone African music, tirelessly researching this music for more than 8 years and working closely together with previously ignored musicians to record and release their largely unknown gems. (including co-compiling last year’s stunning ‘Space Echo’ released by ANALOG AFRICA) Fininho left C/M end of 2016 to build his own project (work in progress…) and has since given rare performances as a solo DJ. Clearly dancefloor-oriented, celebrating deep rhythms from Western Africa and the Caribbean (with a strong influence from Cabo Verde, Angola and Guiné-Bissau), the musical diversity of the Black Atlantic will be the center of a trip from psychedelic Gumbé to Bass-Driven Semba, accelerated Funaná, Hot Compa or early Zouk. A real, contemporary demonstration of the massive cultural exchanges that took place in the last 5 centuries!
