Empro (DE)

Artist
Grown up end of the 80s in Thuringia Empro (original name Mathias Proppé) was interested in the multiplicity of electronic music since the mid-90s. After excursions through all different styles of electronic music he rapidly became an active part of the scene. Attracted to Minimal Techno, he constantly rocked the dancefloors with his powerful enduring sets. His first DJ gig was below Alexanderplatz at Underground Berlin in 2003. Numerous gigs followed and shortly later he played in Berlin’s established clubs like Watergate, Tresor, Maria, WMF, Polar Tv and Casino. Once involved in the music community Restrealitaet, he founded the booking agency Mind The Crap together with Ruede Hagelstein, Rejne Rittel and Tanna Enderlein, the former booker of Watergate, in December 2004. Furthermore he is the initiator of several party series in and around Berlin like HomeSweetHome (in co-operation with Marcus Meinhardt) and Betriebsfeier. Annually during the summer months he supports the Europe-wide known Melt!Festival with organizing the Sleepless Floor. He is also involved in festivals like SonneMondSterne, Fusion, Sonar OFF and Secret Iceland. At Berlin, Beats and Boats he represents HomeSweetHome with an own party boat. Apart from organizing parties Empro is with priority active as a label artist. In the studio next door to Marco Resman, Format B and Ruede Hagelstein he is producing together with Sven Jozwiak since 2006. Kleine Hafenrundfahrt - the first release of Empro & Jozwiak - appeared in January 2008 on Upon. You Records. Various productions and remixes followed on national and international labels like Bar25, Kassette, Kalender, Qt Records, No Dough Music, Dyami and Freizeitglauben. Together with Miko from Channel X he produced a track called Running Man that appeared on the latest HomeSweetHome Compilation.
