Charlie Anderson is a lawyer at Clintons, one of the UK's leading music specialist law firms. After a degree in molecular biology as an undergraduate, Charlie converted to law and was awarded the Thomas More Scholarship from Lincoln's Inn, before being called to the bar in 2003. He completed his pupillage at 11 South Square, a top-tier IP set. Having already been involved in the music industry as a DJ and producer for several years, Charlie left chambers after pupillage in 2004 to join Clintons as a in-house barrister to specialise in music industry work. He has since advised and represented clients in high profile cases including the successful Court of Appeal action in Seal -v- Wadlow. Charlie's current practice covers all areas of IP, including copyright, trade marks and passing off, as well as contractual matters within music, digital media and fashion. He works with a client roster which includes talent such as Daft Punk, The Who, The Sex Pistols, Duke Dumont, DJ Fresh, Seth Troxler and Daisy Lowe, as well as numerous producers, major and independent record labels, publishers, clubs and festivals - particularly within dance music. He is a fluent French speaker with a working knowledge of French law within his practice areas. He is a fanatical surfer.
