Alan Simms - Director: Shine; Belsonic festival; CHSq Festival; the Limelight Belfast; The Academy Dublin; The Telegraph Belfast Shine, established by Alan Simms in 1995, is Ireland's longest running and most established Dance Music Brand. Previous headline acts over the years represents a "Who's Who" of Electronic Music, including Aphex Twin, Richie Hawtin, Skrillex, Chase & Status, Deep Dish, Justice, DJ Shadow, Sasha, John Digweed & literally hundereds of others. Shine Productions has grown to promote Live & Club events of various sizes in venues throughout Belfast, ranging from one of the companies' own venues The Limelight (1500 Cap) right up to Belsonic festival (15000 daily capacity in partnership with MCD over 8 days this year featuring the likes of Green Day, Arcade Fire, Chainsmokers, Martin Garrix) and the CHSq festival (5,000 capacity over 10 days in partnership with MCD featuring the likes of Carl Cox, Kasabian, Above & Beyond & Stiff Little Fingers). More recently Alan has taken on the 1600 capacity Academy club/live venue in Dublin (in partnership with MCD) and a brand new 2,500 capacity pop up club/live venue in a disused print factory in central Belfast called the Telegraph.
