Dr Adam R Winstock MD MRCPsych MRCP FAChAM is a Consultant Psychiatrist and Addiction Medicine Specialist based in London. He is an also an Honorary Reader at University College London. He was previously a Consultant Psychiatrist at the Maudsley Hospital in London and before that a Senior Staff Specialist in Sydney Australia. He is also founder and director of Global Drug Survey (www.globaldrugsurvey.com) which runs the biggest annual survey of drug use trends in the world. He is also the architect of the world's first harm reduction guide voted for by people who use drugs (the Global Drug Survey Highway Code), the free on line and smart phone apps the drugs meter (www.drugsmeter.com) and drinks meter (www.drinksmeter.com) and the ultra brief feedback and assessment tool for cannabis use www.saferuselimits.co Adam believes honesty is the best drug policy and the thinks sooner we accept people who use drugs are as keen to avoid harm as they are to have fun the sooner we'll be able to have useful conversations and share the wealth of expertise and experience on how to use drugs more safety. He has published over 100 research papers and has developed particular clinical and research expertise in the areas of cannabis, new drugs and chem sex.
