The Rough Guide Through ADE Sunday

To lead you through our extensive program and make you ADE ready we'll share a number of daily highlights.

ADE Hangover and more cultural activities
All great things come to an end and so does ADE 2019. Today is the day to lower your pace and enjoy the last activities going on throughout the city.

One of the yearly highlights can be found at the Northside of Amsterdam as the ADE Hangover is the perfect ending of your up-tempo week. The NDSM wharf is transformed into an oasis of relaxation, where you are able to reenergize after a sizzling 5-days. In a setting of art installations, music, nurturing nutrition and craft beers you and your friends can enjoy a free program of live bands and DJs such as Binkbeats, Brass Rave Unit, Cosmic Force, Dj Boring and many more. All stages are covered to protect your tired eyes from a throbbing hangover. Warm-up in the hot tubs or the sauna, and cool down whilst strolling past the numerous market stalls. Unwinding on a Sunday couldn’t be easier than at the NDSM wharf. As a treat for all ravers and party-goers the entrance is free! Also, In the middle of the collector's haven you'll find Discogs, providing crate-digging sessions with inspiring musicians. Wondering why they chose those vinyl favorites? It will all be revealed in a Q&A including Joost van Bellen, Tijana T, Bufiman, DAVID VUNK, Dave Clarke and is hosted by Aron Friedman.

Located a stones throw away from the ADE Hangover, you'll see Pllek, another comfortable hangout for all who like to unwind from the magic. They have invited conscious and sustainable artist Thaalavattam, who creates music using innovative instruments made from waste plastic and metal (reduce, re-use and recycle) aiming to clean up the plastic waste that is plaguing India. Afterwards enjoy some balearic beats with Abel Nagengast & Marcelo Umaña. And at the NDSM Sessions expect performances by Rose Flower Label w/ Matth Tunes, Shane Belles and Nachtstroom, plus Mia Mendi, Rafael Cerato and Alex Sharp. On the other part of North, you will find the performance of Belgian duo Use Knife (Stef Heeren and Kwinten Mordijck) who are up to give an electro twist to the hallucinatory silent film classic La coquille et le clergyman, that has been acclaimed as one of the first (and one of the best) surrealist films ever. A unique live scoring event at the Eye Film museum you do not want to miss.

While finding your way back to the centre, do not forget to checkout the Preview of Beats: a film that revolves around the unlikely friendship between teenagers Spanner and Johnno and tells a universal story about friendship, resistance and the power of being strong together, to the rhythms of a stirring soundtrack. Kraak & Smaak will conclude the event in Studio/K with a short film and DJ set. Another cinematic experience can be found at De Melkweg with Iris: A Space Opera By Justice (2019). This film captures Justice’s show from the 'Women Worldwide' tour, recorded in an empty and invisible space without an audience, focusing exclusively on the impressive production and music. Make sure not to miss the last Rush Hour In-store session with unannounced and various guest artists, playing live at the Amsterdam's record shop, and the exhibition State of Mind, showing the work of Miriam Kruishoop and Mike van Veen. While at it, also pop by at the exhibition DJ Faces by Jos Kottmann.

The last night.....
The closing night of ADE is set to host many events, so for the ones who can't sit still yet, there will be a lot to discover. Local favorite Hunee & Orpheu The wizard is taking over Garage Noord and at De Marktkantine they are ready for the first Amsterdam all-nighter of Damian Lazarus. Continuing their Het Weekend program, De School opens its doors for the final round of their 72-hour marathon.

The legacy of Acid House cannot be denied at Club Yolo, where they will celebrate it and the many other genres it has inspired. Therefore DJ Pierre is joining forces with We Jack and label head Ghettoblaster to present Acid Jack. And at Brighter Days and Doka Studio you are invited for an intimate Sunday session to do some dancing including a line-up featuring DJ Spinna, a special guest from Rush Hour, Margie, Nevill Mitchell, and Kamma & Masalo.

For the 5th consecutive year Elrow returns for another colorful ADE adventure at the Kromhouthal. And Amsterdam based Delsin Records, specialized in techno, electronica, and ambient will take charge of the Oumuamua for their Electric Café closing night. FUSE returns to Amsterdam for a 12-hour marathon, running from 4 PM - 4 AM in typical FUSE fashion, at the cities newest warehouse spot - Lofi. And the Brasil-Berlin Voodoohop collective pioneered the new Latin American downtempo sound and are now meeting up with Amsterdam crew Esoterica to create a slow and magical ride through the new pace of dance music at ADE Sunday. Last but not least are Boiler Room at Skate Cafe and Audio Obscura at the Loft to go out with a bang.

With this and many other things to hear, see and experience, the program will end today and we hoped you enjoyed it as much as we did. Have fun those last ADE hours!
