Mastering Masterclass by Julia Borelli
Speaker: Julia Borelli (Artist)
Level: Intermediate
Mixing is where a track finds its full potential. At just 29, Julia Borelli has become one of the leading engineers in electronic music, shaping the sounds of Richie Hawtin, Anyma, Moby, Rüfüs du Sol, Elderbrook, Röyksopp, Ben Böhmer, Yotto and Solomun. With over a billion streams to her name and early credits that contributed to Grammy and Latin Grammy wins, Julia has set a new standard for clarity and emotion in electronic music production.
In this masterclass, Julia will share her personal philosophy on mixing and the techniques that shape her daily workflow. She will guide you through the process of taking a track from a raw demo to a polished master, using before-and-after examples to show how balance, dynamics and precision transform the listener’s experience.
Expect practical techniques for creating clarity, punch and balance, plus insights into low-end control, drum processing and resolving frequency clashes. Julia will cover tips for stereo width, phase coherence and referencing, as well as mastering basics like dynamics, EQ and loudness so your tracks translate across all systems and for you to walk out of the masterclass with actionable takeaways which you can apply immediately to your own productions!
