From the Baile to the World: The Journey of Brazilian Funk
Speakers: Galecta, Bronka
Moderator: Karel OTC (Kurashi)
This panel convenes pioneering artists, DJs and producers from Brazil's Underground Funk scene for a critical discussion on its evolution from local cultural movement to a global electronic phenomenon. Our experts will deconstruct the genre's musical DNA, tracing its journey from the foundational sounds of Baile Funk to its myriad modern subgenres that are currently influencing charts and dancefloors worldwide.
The conversation will extend beyond the music to explore the vibrant culture that fuels it, examining the social ecosystem from which these sounds emerge. A core focus will be on the business and strategy of building an international career: the challenges of navigating global markets, the transition from local hero to international artist, and practical advice for sustainable development abroad.
Curated by Baile da Galecta and Criativos Foundation, this session is part of a dedicated focus on Brazilian Funk at ADE Pro, which includes an opening event on Thursday 23th of October and a DJ workshop on Saturday 25th of October. Join us for an authoritative look at the past, present, and future of one of the world's most dynamic musical forces.
