COLORS Keynote with Kosta Elchev | Music x Brands
Speaker: Kosta Elchev (Founder of the Department and Head of Partnerships at COLORSxSTUDIOS)
This keynote explores the deep history of artist patronage and how leaders, institutions, and corporations have used artists as powerful tools for influence, and it distills centuries of lessons into a modern framework for successful partnerships. From ancient Egypt’s temple musicians to Greek theatre sponsorships, from the Catholic Church’s sacred commissions to the Medici dynasty’s cultural empire, and into today’s corporate brand collaborations, the story is clear: the mechanics haven’t changed, only the language has. “From pharaohs to Fortune 500s, commissioning art has always been about more than beauty; it’s about shaping perception. Today, we call it brand storytelling. In ancient times, it was propaganda. The mechanics haven’t changed, only the language has.” The goal is to educate the audience on both the lineage of artist patronage and the modern realities of building partnerships that resonate, scale, and earn audience trust.
