Whitney is the incumbent Editor-in-Chief of the electronic music magazine and community platform Resident Advisor, and the former Editor-in-Chief of Electronic Beats, the music marketing program of Deutsche Telekom.

Foremost a journalist and critic, Whitney writes about club culture and experimental dance music scenes from around the world. Her words have appeared in The Guardian, Vogue US, Highsnobiety, Pitchfork, and Numéro Berlin, among others. In 2020, Whitney served as a mentor for the Factory Berlin, Sónar+D, and Beats by Dr. Dre artist residency program and was selected as a Shesaid.so and Native Instruments Alternative Power 100 Music List Honoree. More recently, she was a member of the Clubcommission Berlin ‘Day of Club Culture’ Board of Trustees and a judging panelist for the Youth Music Awards. She has also led several music journalism workshops and panel discussions at cultural centers such as the Feurele Collection and festivals around the world including Unsound in Kraków, Dekmantel in Amsterdam, Nuits Sonores and Hôtel71 in Lyon, Reeperbahn in Hamburg, and CTM in Berlin.

Whitney graduated with distinction from Barnard College of Columbia University, and was a 2017 Fulbright National Geographic Semi-finalist for her fellowship proposal on urban nightlife. She is based in Berlin.
