Tim Zwerver born & raised in Amsterdam, developed his passion for music from a very youn age. His taste always leaned to the more alternative side of music. Listening to classics, hip hop and rock & roll most of the time. He started playing guitar from 11 years old, influenced by artist such as:
Jimi Hendrix, Led Zeppelin, Guns & Roses and many more. But that wasn't enough because his love for the old school hip hop sound was growing exponentially. Finding out that this part of hip hop was using a lot of samples from different genres, I came in touch with soul, funk, disco. Exploring new music every day he realized that it became more an obsession to find new tracks than a hobby. When he was 16 he came in touch with electronic music, this moment a new world opened up. Spending the whole day in class finding more and more satisfying songs. It was a couple months later when he came across Kerri Chandler online while looking for music. It was love on first sinewave. The deep jazzy chords, 909 drums, pure vocals... it was pure magic. Reading about the history of house he discovered more and more old school house artist such as:
Moodymann, Dub Syndicate, Grant Nelson, Marshall Jefferson, Soundstream and so on. By the time he was 17 he started mixing on his desktop with a small controller. But this became boring real quick. So not long after this he bought two Stanton turntables and started spending almost all of his money on vinyl. Collecting old school gems also a lot of rare/unknown vinyl. Mixing vinyl every day to learn his Dj skills the old fashioned way. He also collected new releases, but a lot of them still had that old school sound to it.His sound is groovy, underground house music with an old school twist to it. From fuzzy and warm synths to up tempo house beats with funky stabs and chopped up vocals. He just wants to make you dance and feel good as a true Dj should.
Future plans include music production as he continues to grow exponentially in talent & experience.
