Taya (AU)

Artist
Stepping out of an immense year, from closing Australia’s biggest festival Splendour In The Grass, to studio sessions with Carl Cox, TAYA moves with diligence into a bright future, with his fated debut on Circus Recordings just around the corner... TAYA’s second EP on Bassic Records, “Valhalla”, nearly bettered his debut, “Perception”, and coincided with a 12 stop nationwide tour. “Love Get No Enemy” climbed up through the Beatport Deep House Top 10 apart of Open Records’ “Expansion Pack ll” and remixes of Sante, Tora and Pantheon outturned stunning results. TAYA has truly weaponized groove, formulating deep darkened house blended with progressive jaunts. Cultivating this unique style with the Bassic Records and Circus Recordings families, his smooth yet ferocious experiments with groove have received praise and support from some of the most respected producers in the game: Carl Cox, Yousef, Beckers, Cid Inc, Nicole Moudaber, Township Rebellion, Jamie Stevens; and tastemakers: Mixmag, inthemix, Decoded Magazine, Point Blank, OzEDM, Music Is 4 Lovers, Deep House Sweden and Progressive House Worldwide. TAYA’s passionate approach has led him to feature regularly at major festivals Splendour In The Grass, Falls, Subsonic Music Festival, Rabbits Eat Lettuce, Earth Frequency, Bohemian Beatfreaks and Twisted Frequency (NZ). Additional to residencies and regular slots at Jenja (Bali), elsewhere (Gold Coast), La La Land, The Northern (Byron Bay) and Capulet (Brisbane), TAYA has been the big name on the bill for acclaimed venues and club brands including Revolver, Breakfast Club, Tramp, Circus (Melbourne), Subsonic Music’s Subclub, The Burdekin Hotel (Sydney) and Subculture (Nouméa). 2017 saw TAYA’s skill and determination win Beatport’s first Beats In School Producer Competition in conjunction with Yousef’s Circus Recordings. Consequently, TAYA is the newest member of the world renowned label, alongside a hefty list of the world’s most prominent names: Jamie Jones, Sasha, Hot Since 82, Joris Voorn, Yousef himself and many more. To say the very least, the evolution of the TAYA journey is exciting and adventurous.
