Soufianej (NL)

Soufiane Jounaid, born in Casablanca, Morocco in 1999 is a young DJ/Producer/Songwriter more commonly known under the name Soufianej. Having started his DJ career as young as 19 years old, he has already played some of the biggest venues in Amsterdam (Melkweg, Panama, Bitterzoet, Thuishaven...) and continues to thrive in the local scene. Soufianej embraced music through its cores. Deeply engulfed by classical music, his first approach to the art was the piano, an instrument for which he has no more secrets. Inspired by artists such as San Holo, Taska black, Weiss (UK) and various other artists... He started writing his own arrangements at the age of 19 years old. Drifting in between the Lydian scale's ethereal, dreamy and futuristic pitches to the tragic and sentimental Melodic minor scale. This essential mix of dreamy grooves and dark mysterious sounds translates into his mixing in which he takes a dangerous but rewarding route between funky house, tech house and hard techno. He continues today to learn music production and explore his horizon as a songwriter primarily and takes great pride in his local residencies with large promoters such as Exchange party (NL) and East Techno Collective (NL).
