Peter Scheer (NL)

Peter began his career in the horticulture and agriculture industries. His interest
and focus caused him to become an expert in vertical farming. Due to his expertise and enthusiasm, he got managing opportunities in Nepal and Egypt. During the execution of those projects, he based many of his decisions on local environmental and social conditions. His international experiences, combined with global challenges, triggered his entrepreneurial side. Peter aspires to utilise his expertise, knowledge, and experience to establish sustainable circular economies, with a special focus on developing regions. Working with the European Space Agency inspired Peter to explore the design of a closed-loop system that combines Yellow, Grey, and Black Water technologies with vertical farming to secure food and water availability. At festivals and events, Peter is working with Nijhuis Saur Industries on the recovery of nutrients from urine and converting them into a fertiliser to grow food.
