Pedro Winter (FR)
Pedro Winter is one of the most influential figures in French electronic music. A key architect of the French Touch movement, he played a central role in the emergence of the Paris electronic scene in the 1990s before serving as Daft Punk’s manager from 1996 to 2008.
In 2003, he founded Ed Banger Records, the influential independent label that helped define a new era of French electronic music and launched the international careers of artists including Justice, DJ Mehdi, SebastiAn, Breakbot, Uffie and Myd. Alongside his work as a label executive, he has developed an international DJ career under the name Busy P, performing at leading festivals and venues worldwide.
As a producer, curator and cultural entrepreneur, Winter has consistently worked across music, fashion and contemporary culture, building bridges between creative disciplines.
In 2024, he participated in the closing ceremony of the Paris Paralympic Games at Stade de France and was appointed Officer of the Order of Arts and Letters. In 2025, he curated the closing event of “Because Beaubourg”, featuring a surprise performance by Fred again.. and Thomas Bangalter.
Earlier this year, Pedro Winter has been appointed Global Head of Creation & Co-Managing Director of Because Music France. His arrival at Because Music marks a natural and seamless extension of the long-standing strategic and artistic collaboration between Ed Banger and Because Music, which began in 2005.
As defining figure in contemporary electronic culture, Pedro Winter continues to operate at the intersection of heritage, innovation and new artistic movements.
