Michael Mendoza (NL)

A young Michael Mendoza went to a concert of his half-sister who was working as a dancer in the Now & Wow in Rotterdam. That evening as 14-year-old boy Michael fell in love with the house music and the dance scene. The well-known DJ Benny Rodrigues referred the young Michael through to a website where he could dive into the music and that he did. Michael often tried to stay at his sister home in order to bring him to the clubs. When Michael was 16, he went with friends to go out to further explore the world of house and her music. He had the tacit dream to become a DJ, but his parents wanted that he focused on school. A few years later it was his time. Michael was performing at Rush in the Cineac and his first booking was a fact. Meanwhile, Michael began studying law at the University. In the beginning, he was supposed to be combining his study with Spinnin' Records, until Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano tipped Michael as a big talent and the booking requests came shortly after. Michael made his decision and chose his dream and quit school. Michael now performs in The Netherlands and abroad in various clubs and at events and is every day happy that he can be a DJ. Michael plays house music in the broadest sense of the word. Depending on the mood and setting wherever he plays he adjusts his set. He always leaves the musical colors of EDM, progressive and a tad tribal house behind. Michael is best known for his songs Be Without You ft. I-Fan (Hard Soul), Trinidad (Defected) Evolution (Flamingo) and the most recent single his collaboration with singer DO Blame it on Love (Big & Dirty). Michael is known for his sarcasm, humour and self-mockery but is instead a warm and confident person. Being a DJ is his passion: Every second I'm performing I Feel Like I'm escaping the ordinary and am in full control of my life.
