Inspired by the house music explosion of the late 80’s Hans jumped straight into the dance music scene running all night dance music parties in the north of England including Sheffield (CJs and raves), Grimsby (Customs House), Hull (Wellington Club), Leeds (The Warehouse), working with James Baillie (Venus) in Nottingham as well as World Dance and Energy events. In 1992 Hans moved to London to start the rave night Jelly at The Fridge with Keith Cox, which featured The Prodigy, The Orb, Orbital, The Shamen and the Ragga Twins plus DJs Ian B, Colin Faver, Evil Eddie Richards, Colin Dale & DJ Face. A year later Hans and partners launched the SilverFish Record shop in Charing Cross Road, London, a multi functional space involving cafe art gallery and record store, specialising in techno and house imports. Silverfish became an overnight success for championing worldwide techno sounds and hosted parties all over the world as well as in London with Richie Hawtin, Sven Vath and Mr C. In 1995 Silverfish Records was bought out by the international network of companies UCMG/Intergroove /Humpty to launch their UK arm of record distribution, record labels and record shops. Hans headed up the UK structure championing the biggest techno and house artists of that era including Tiesto, Chris Leibing, Hardfloor, Steve Lawler, Yousef and Peace Division. The company was de-merged in 2003, and Hans was then head hunted to work in promotions at fledgling club Egg Ldn, whilst also running his popular Sunday day & night party Retox at various venues, which featured ground-breaking DJs Luciano, Ricardo Villalobos, Jamie Jones, Seth Troxler, Dan Ghenacia. Retox ran from 2003-2010. Arriving at Egg London in its first year, Hans helped launch the longstanding Sunday morning party Jaded at the venue with Krista, which ran for just over 2 years before switching venues. Hans also introduced the monthly techno & house party Supernova at Egg, which ran for 5 years and played host to Danny Tenaglia, Jerome Sydenham, Marco Bailey, Mark Reeve, Uner, Karotte, Max Chapman. As Egg’s reputation grew, Hans landed and co-ran Layo & Bushwacka’s Saturday night bi-monthly residency which ran for 2 years after The End closed, and also introduced Yousef’s bi-monthly Circus party, which is still running there. As well as these events, Han has also worked extensively on the promotion of Egg’s many different themed events including the quarterly Berlin Berlin party and the annual Anniversary and Halloween events. One of the longest serving members of staff at Egg Ldn, Hans runs the day-to-day business in the office as well as heading up the International Relations side of the club, attending all the major dance music conferences to spreading the Egg family clubbing vibe worldwide.
