GMS, short for Growling Mad Scientists, are pioneers of psychedelic trance with a legacy that spans nearly three decades. Formed in Amsterdam in 1995 by Riktam (Shajahan Matkin) and the late Bansi (Joseph Quinteros), GMS became one of the most influential acts in the global psytrance movement. With more than 350,000 albums sold worldwide and a discography of over 150 releases, GMS has defined the sound of modern psychedelic trance. Their music has reached far beyond the dance floor, featuring in Hollywood films such as Man on Fire and Domino, while their high-energy performances have headlined festivals on every continent. As founders of the legendary Spun Records and later Starbox Music, GMS helped build the international psy-trance infrastructure, supporting countless artists and shaping the scene.
