Freaks (GB)

Artist
The ever-evolving and never predictable musical venture that is Freaks first materialized as the brainchild of London-based Luke Solomon and Bournemouth’s Justin Harris. Having remixed for artists such as Pulp, Damon Albarn and Kasabian and receiving support from a wide selection of artists including Derrick Carter, Damian Lazarus, The Chemical Brothers, Ewan Pearson and Laurent Garnier, there is no doubt that Freaks are a production outfit worth their weight. 2011 and early 2012 saw them team up with open minded label, Rebirth Records to release their singles, “Right Now” featuring the vocal talents of Robert Owens, “Conscious Of My Conscience” featuring Diz aka 012 which soon became a knock out underground success and the no 1 most charted record on Resident Advisor’s Top 100 earlier in the year and most recently the subtle and addictive “We Move” featuring Stella Attar. The boys own label, Music For Freaks, also continues to release albums featuring the guys musical history right up to the current Freaks output and their compilation, Freaks – ‘Best of Times’ which included tracks from all three previous studio albums “The Beat Diaries”, “Meanwhile Back At The Disco” and “The Man Who Lived Underground” as well as previously unreleased material, received major press acclaim: “This Album is proof just how influential this duo’s heavily electronic, slightly off kilter take on deep house has been – half of berlin is trying to make music like this now !” – IDJ MAG “Containing all the highlights of their first 3 albums, Best Of Times also boasts some incredible new tunes which prove that Freaks are still some of the most unique producers in house” – DJ MAG The most recent album, a collection of the best of Freaks remixes entitled “Danced & Re-ordered”, features reworkings of all the seminal Freaks tracks from some of the giants of electronic music, to include Tiefschwarz, Rob Mello, Mark Farina & Derrick Carter.
