Dave Huismans' A Made Up Sound project finds the Dutchman making music that, compared to his work as 2562, is more openly rooted in techno and house, yet with a wildly idiosyncratic take on sampling, beatprogramming and composition. Though his tracks are powerful and at times downright unhinged, they're always imbued with a healthy dose of funk and that's what makes them so appealing - just like his dj-sets.
