Braaks (GB)

Artist
Braaks's unique style is a result of his many influences through the years. It all started in 1985. From a young age, Braaks was lucky enough to be surrounded by people with a passion for music. From birth, his parents used to take him to the annual Notting Hill Carnival in London and this was where his initial passion was ignited. Initially it was Reggae and Dancehall music, but in the mid 90s a new and exciting sound started emerging which was the beginning of a new era for Braaks... U.K. Garage. At the age of 15 he got his first set of records decks and he never looked back. It was the year 2000 and the soulful, and deeper garage that he knew and loved started to take back seat for a newer, edgier, moodier and darker sound which slowly morphed into Grime. As Grime started overshadowing the true Garage sound, Braaks found himself going back to his first love, reggae and dancehall. For the next few years, this was all he played, regularly attending and playing at reggae dances and soundclashes under a different alias.
