Angie Linder (US)

Speaker (Co-Founder and Label Manager of Detroit Techno Militia, Founder of Detroit Artist Agency)

Angie Linder is a lifelong music enthusiast, entrepreneur, and advocate for creative communities. Surrounded by music from an early age, she credits her father’s work on Detroit radio that sparked her passion for vinyl collecting. She grew up playing trumpet and continues to perform with a local community band. In the late 80s, Angie discovered techno through the early broadcasts of Mojo and the Wizard, an experience that defined her musical path. By the late 90s, she was both attending and organizing events in Detroit’s underground scene, where she eventually met her husband and creative partner, Tom Linder.

Angie is the Co-Founder and Label Manager of Detroit Techno Militia, a DJ collective and record label established in 2002, and the founder of Detroit Artist Agency. She serves as Secretary for the Tec-Troit Electronic Music Festival, a free, grassroots festival dedicated to showcasing Detroit’s electronic artists and educating the next generation.

On a global scale, Angie is the Board Chair for In Place of War’s U.S. Board and a member of the organization’s Global Music Advisory Board, helping to support and connect grassroots creative communities in conflict and crisis zones around the world. She is also an active advocate for the 24-hour economy, championing nightlife as a driver of cultural and economic growth through her work with Detroit Nightlife United.

When she isn’t working on larger initiatives, Angie volunteers her time to projects that keep Detroit’s music culture thriving, from community festivals like Hamtramck Music Festival to neighborhood record shops like Detroit Threads. She is also a founding member of Dimitri Hegemann’s Detroit-Berlin Connection and the Detroit Sound Conservancy. Her career reflects a lifelong commitment to amplifying Detroit’s underground electronic music and building platforms that empower artists locally and globally.
