Frank Rodi is the Innovation lead within APRA AMCOS’ new Research & Development team. He is also the organisation’s Electronic Music Specialist for Writer Services.
Frank has been with APRA AMCOS for over 15 years, and is the driving force behind the implementation of music recognition technology in nightclubs and festivals throughout Australia. His work is focused on developing more effective ways to distribute royalties to publishers and songwriters of electronic and dance music.
In his previous role as Online Licensing Manager, Frank developed policy frameworks in Australia and New Zealand for the licensing of new digital music services and negotiated deals with services such as iTunes, Spotify, Beatport, YouTube and Vevo.
Before joining APRA AMCOS, Frank worked as a broadcaster and DJ. He created the first electronic music show on free-to-air TV in Australia (Alchemy for SBS Television) and worked at the ABC’s Triple-J as an announcer and producer. As a DJ, he has played at nightclubs and festivals across Australia.
