In our era of global digitization—where information travels in an instant and streaming platforms have reshaped the way we discover, consume, and collect music—one might expect physical media to have faded into obscurity. Yet vinyl records continue to defy that trend, with sales steadily rising year after year. For many, buying records remains a cherished ritual: stepping into a record shop, flipping through the bins, listening, selecting favourites, and finally placing a record on the turntable, lowering the needle into the groove, and sinking into sonic bliss.

But the record is only part of the story. Alongside the music comes the album sleeve—a work of art in its own right. Too often overlooked in favour of the audio content, these covers are the result of dedicated creative labour by graphic designers, illustrators, and photographers. They serve as visual gateways into the music, shaping our first impressions and deepening our engagement with the sounds within.

Echoes on Vinyl celebrates the aesthetic and cultural significance of album art, presenting it as an integral part of the creative process—from music production to marketing to the collector’s shelf. This exhibition invites visitors to rediscover album covers as art treasures: objects of beauty, craftsmanship, and cultural memory.
