Moderator: Dave Clarke (Artist)
There is less competition and independents operating worldwide as VC has swallowed up swathes of the industry creating in the Netherlands a basic Duopoly, the same line ups and expensive tickets are all around. Is there still a future for independents, or do they also aim (or need) to be sold on? Are the extra expenses being passed on to the consumer really down to infrastructural costs or down to some artists charging extraordinary fees. Did managers help retain the culture or package it all neatly up for a capitalist take over? How can we protect Culture in our scene that is now 40 plus years old? Does Culture even matter anymore? Diversity is also being eroded in a scene that basically presents a white washed simulation where social media is THE most important factor. Join us for a deeper look into this conundrum.
