Portraits of Music by Bastiaan Woudt | Photo exhibition | Friends x 750
As last year, the Leica Gallery Amsterdam will host an exhibition that shows the warm connection between Amsterdam Dance Event and Photography. This year renowned art photographer Bastiaan Woudt is in the spotlight with a Leica made series of characteristic portraits of leading artists in the world of electronic music. As a special element, the exhibition features a special series of portraits of young talented students of the Conservatory of Haarlem. Are these the famous DJ’s of the future?
Bastiaan Woudt is a master of black-and-white photography who quickly developed into an internationally acclaimed artist and publisher. His work—timeless, emotional, and technically driven—combines artistic perfection with an entrepreneurial spirit and social engagement. His photography unites classical influences with a contemporary approach to form, texture, and contrast. Although he only started photographing in 2011, he quickly became an established name in the art world. He creates portraits, landscapes, and still lifes with a sublime eye for monochrome contrasts, silhouettes, and shadow play—a style reminiscent of his beloved master photographers such as Irving Penn and Richard Avedon, but at the same time full of modern editing techniques. His work is often described as “abstract yet sharp, with a strong focus on detail.”
Bastiaan Woudt is showcasing a unique series of portraits taken with a Leica camera of well-known DJs and electronic music students from the Conservatory of Haarlem at the Leica Gallery Amsterdam.
The Leica gallery is located above the Leica Store in the Museum Square, 'the heart of art'. The Gallery presents exhibitions of all time icons, a stage for old and new talent and a warm collaboration with Leica Galleries worldwide. The Gallery connects art-loving public and photographers.

Most festival events have an age limit of 18+ (and sometimes even 21+ or 23+). These are Dutch governmental rules which state that below the age of 18 you are not allowed to enter a club.
Please double-check the promoter's or venue's website to be sure you can access the event!
Yes, the ADE Pro Pass grants you access to all ADE official festival events.
Be aware though that there are over 1,200 events during ADE that you can enter with the Pro Pass wristband and that ADE cannot guarantee access. There is a limited capacity that each venue can take into account for Pro Pass holders. This means for some of the more crowded events you have to arrive early. Once capacity is reached, we will go over in a full-for-now policy. The festival event organizer will decide when and if more people are allowed to go in.
The ADE Pro Pass is the perfect fit if you are planning on enjoying the combination of day and night events. If you want guaranteed access to a particular festival event, we advise you to get a single festival ticket instead.
We dance together, so please be mindful of yourself and each other.
