Low Jack presents Lacrimosa w/ Ensemble vocal Voix des Outre-Mer

Low Jack, alias of electronic artist Philippe Hallais, presents Lacrimosa: a powerful work inspired by personal loss.

Deeply tied to the composer’s own life, the narrative of Lacrimosa invites reflection in the face of loss. This sonic work draws inspiration from Alice Coltrane’s spiritual Eternity (1976) as well as the traditional structure of the Requiem, a mass for the dead. One of its sections, the Dies Irae, evokes Judgment Day and concludes with the Lacrimosa (literally, “full of tears”), depicting the weeping of souls in search of salvation.

In Lacrimosa, Low Jack transforms autobiographical elements into a messianic, polyglot form, unfolding across eight movements that chart the storms and serenity of grief. The piece follows an initiatory solar cycle—from dawn to dusk—where one returns transformed but mourning the loss of a guiding presence. Low Jack crafts one of his most intimate compositions, weaving together musical archetypes and universal narrative structures, drawing from both classical lyrical music and pop standards.

Lacrimosa will be released on Stroom in October 2025.

Oude Kerk Amsterdam

The Oude Kerk, in the middle of the historic city centre, is a place for contemporary art and Amsterdam’s oldest building. Over the centuries, the church grew from a small wooden chapel (circa 1250) to an extensive hall church (circa 1570). Today, the building is considered an important (inter)national monument. The Oude Kerk invites artists to create new works exclusively for this location. The programme connects past, present and future through the interplay of ancient heritage and contemporary art. The new works artists and musicians create here offer new perspectives on history, the world around us, and the future.

Yes, the Pro Pass grants you access to all ADE official festival events. Even if a festival event is sold out, you can still access the event with your ADE Pro Pass wristband. During ADE there are over 500 festival events and hundreds more cultural and conference events you can enter with the wristband. One thing to keep in mind is that there is a limited capacity that each venue can take into account for ADE Pro wristband holders. This means that, for some of the more crowded events, you have to arrive early to ensure attendance. Once capacity is reached, ADE Pro holders will be let into the event on a one in-one-out basis.
