An inspiring and interactive conversation on carving out your own lane in the cultural landscape with integrity and purpose, taking steps to create durable ownership and to build your own heritage with authenticity and guts. Our speakers have all made an undeniable impact on our culture and scene and will share their experiences, advice and best practices. DJ and cultural advisor Vanity Roxane works within the intersection of feminism, hip-hop and soundsystem culture, is building the infrastructure to preserve hip-hop heritage in her region, and founded The FemDem - a platform uniting womxn DJ’s and producers within the electronic music scene. Joan Biekman is the founder of Urban Chicks With Brains, co-founder of The Black Hague Experience and won the 2024 Kartiniprize for her work contributing towards a better position for black women and women of color in her city. And creative strategist and entrepeneur Lara Jade develops projects with her vision of truly inclusive culture as an important pillar, and founded Pretty Girls Like Trap Music: the first Dutch women+ only hip-hop party created from an urge for a safer space for women+.
