Festival: New Venues

Thursday, 29 September 2022
As the ADE Festival is ever-expanding, each year new venues join the web of clubs, concert halls, and big rooms that together form the heart of electronic music for five days in October. Discover these new places with this guide, and experience ADE like you never have before.

GDE opening, Taboo, ADE Wednesday

Gay Dance Event (GDE) has been sparking joy for years. The collective that celebrates life and love takes its opening party to a new venue to ADE, Taboo. Located on the very central and well-known Reguliersdwarsstraat, the venue is popular for its inclusive and clear message that all people are equal. Combine the cocktail nights of Taboo with the drag queens of GDE, and the outcome is a fun night filled with festivity. If you can’t make it on ADE Wednesday, Taboo has events across the five days of ADE.

Grachtenfestival, The Other Side, ADE Thursday

With a slogan that says ‘Moved by rhythms’, The Other Side is as much of a music label, as it is a community that thrives on thumping beats and moving melodies. Besides being a label from Amsterdam, the agency has close to twenty artists signed. About time they join in on the fun! The Other Side has events ranging from ADE Thursday to ADE Sunday, where many of their own selectors hit the stage, as well as artists from all over the world. Join them for their ADE opening with funky dance duo Likeminds playing Grachtenfestival, or discover the many Other events.

Brazilian STORM, Brazilian Roots, Thursday

Come to Brazil, but in Amsterdam! A new location where you forget all about the temperatures of the Dutch autumn, Brazilian Roots is set to bring the heat this ADE. With a program curated by Brazilian people who know the rising stars behind the decks, the Brazilian STORM event on ADE Thursday shows you who to watch for the coming years, and who to watch now.
