ADE and Amsterdam 750 join forces with citywide program under Arts & Culture and Friends
A shared celebration of city and culture
On October 27, 2025, Amsterdam will celebrate its 750th anniversary. The city has marked this milestone with a year full of festivities, culminating in the official birthday, which falls just one day after ADE. In tribute to the shared spirit of the city’s communities and cultures, ADE and the City of Amsterdam have crafted an integrated program that sees ADE wrap up a year of celebrations.
Highlights of the participating venues revealed so far:

ADE Arts & Culture x 750
ADE is set to launch a week of ADE Arts & Culture x 750 specials, where each ADE day will see one dedicated showcase in a variety of the city’s iconic cultural venues. Carefully selected in the spirit of celebrating the diversity of Amsterdam’s many cultures and subcultures, this series represents the togetherness and community connection that make ADE special.
The first confirmed events include:
- Two immersive Opening Specials at ARTIS Planetarium, one by synth legend Suzanne Ciani and one with Julius Horsthuis x Rival Consoles;
- Thursday sees ‘Suriname Rising - 50 Years of Freedom in Music’ at Concertgebouw, a celebration of Surinamese culture combined with electronic influences;
- Friday kicks off ZERØBPM, a 39.5‑hour ambient meditation marathon with 26 performing artists at Thomaskerk;
- Saturday adds a thought-provoking evening on Chinese Club Culture at Wereldmuseum Amsterdam.
One-off showcase on Amsterdam's official birthday
Monday, October 27th
To top it all off, on Amsterdam’s official 750th anniversary we present a final entry with ADE x Amsterdam 750: Young Marco, Legowelt & Mary Lake live ambient sessions at Concertgebouw. A special night of live ambient sessions in which the three standout artists reimagine their performances in an intimate setting; a fitting tribute to the city that has shaped them musically, on the day it turns 750 years old.
