Manager of Nicky Romero and CEO of the Protocol Group, Sander Landsaat has risen through the ranks to earn his place as one of the music industry’s key players. Starting his career DJing at local soccer clubs, Landsaat has turned his hand to countless roles over the years. From equipment hire and security to tour management and stage production for festivals such as Mysteryland, the sheer diversity in Sander’s experience gave him a crucial insight into every facet of the music industry, before ultimately finding his niche in management, where he started work with major artists such as Roger Sanchez and Laidback Luke. It wasn’t long before he met world-renowned DJ/Producer and partner-in-crime Nicky Romero, whose career he has played an instrumental part in crafting. Founding the Protocol Group in 2012, what started out simply as Nicky’s record label Protocol Recordings has since been expanded into a musical empire, covering full artist management and representing a choice roster of carefully selected artists such as Nicky Romero, Wildstylez, Arno Cost and Volt & State, all hand-picked by Sander and Nicky. Over the last year, Sander has drawn on his roots in stage production to add another string to Protocol’s bow, launching Protocol Events, which is now responsible for producing all Protocol label nights worldwide. It is without doubt his incredible and unwavering passion and determination, not to mention inimitable knowledge of the scene and commitment to only working with artists he truly believes in, that has seen Sander Landsaat build not just a business but the Protocol Family he and Nicky so proudly embody.
