René Baptist Huysmans ()

René Baptist Huysmans (DJ name The Baptist) is an Amsterdam born DJ who likes to play dark, multi-layered, industrial techno with a powerful and empowering beat. “Techno can be such a great musical genre for experiencing new sounds that are unfamiliar and that you have never heard before. Personally I love spiky, jagged, torn up or broken sounds. That being said, I only play music that makes me dance.”

Through his music he tries to create a dark but welcoming space which harbours secrets and new discoveries. “I hope to guide you to Planet Party where you can escape for a moment the practicalities of your everyday life.”

He is resident DJ in Club Church as well as for the Techno Tuesday Parties in De Melkweg, and co-organizer and curator of LockeRRoom - the queer and fetish techno party in Club Church.
