Philou Louzolo is a DJ/producer from the Netherlands with Congolese, Nigerian, and Sierra Leonean roots. He is highly regarded in the international scene and recognized as a pioneer in blending genres such as Afrotech, Melodic, Amapiano, House, and Techno. He has received support from acclaimed artists like Damian Lazarus, Solomun, Amémé, and TSHA.

Having released nine EPs, Philou Louzolo gained recognition with his debut album, which was nominated for "Best Album of the Year" by 3voor12, the most prominent music platform in the Netherlands. Furthermore, DJ Mag and BBC Radio 1 named him as one to watch in 2023.

In his album "African Gold," Philou bridges his love for Afro and Techno music. He collaborates with 17 artists from Africa, including Kususa, MoMa Ready, Floyd Lavine, and DJ Kwamzy. "African Gold" showcases a range of Afro styles, combining Afrotech and Amapiano with Tech-house and Melodic elements.

Philou Louzolo also hosts his own events called "Philou Louzolo & Friends" at Thuishaven, as well as curated nights at Club Shelter, featuring artists like Shimza, Damian Lazarus, Culoe de Song, Floyd Lavine, Black Motion, Cincity, Jaden Thompson, Jamiie, and many more.

His music has been released on prominent labels such as DGTL, MoBlack, Cacao, Secret Teachings, Motorik, and Nine and a Half. He gained attention with his bootleg remix of Burna Boy's hit song "Last Last." His latest project includes a remix of the popular track "Kan Tolo" by DJ Satelite & Cortega.

Philou's own label, Wokondou, recently announced its first EP by Wes Lee, following two EPs and an album by Philou himself.

Over the past five years, Philou has experienced both remarkable success and challenging times. His early breakthrough in 2017 led him to perform at renowned venues like Berghain and major festivals such as Nuits Sonores, Awakenings, and DGTL, taking him across Europe, Africa, and America.

In 2019, he founded his label Wokoundou, which further elevated his profile and popularity. His album marked the beginning of a new chapter in his career, highlighted by performing at Lowlands Festival and receiving prime-time coverage on Dutch National TV. He has also toured cities like Berlin, Paris, Tbilisi, London, and made his debuts in Austria, Costa Rica, Azerbaijan, Angola, and Suriname.

Philou's story is one of pride in his heritage and unwavering determination, where he openly acknowledges his shortcomings, lows, and highs. Above all, his message conveys courage, strength, and hope.

Last summer he performed for large crowds at festivals such as Best Kept Secret, Down The Rabbit Hole, DGTL, and many more.
