Novius (NL)

Novius is the blend of three different musical worlds. Formed by Reinout, Bas and Tim from the Netherlands, the project grew out of a shared desire to explore the full range of melodic electronic music.

The story began in 2019 in Cape Town, where Reinout and Tim first connected in a music studio while working with local artists and exploring new sounds. Reinout and Bas had already been close friends and musical partners in the Netherlands, often sharing the decks and producing music together. When the three decided to come together in 2023 for their first studio session as a trio, something clicked and Novius was born.

Their music is shaped by contrasts and connection, weaving together deep house textures, hypnotic techno rhythms, cinematic melodies and club energy. It is a sound that moves across the melodic spectrum, uniting their influences into something fresh yet timeless.

The name Novius reflects that philosophy. Derived from the Latin word novus, meaning “new” or “fresh,” it represents their commitment to constantly evolving, pushing creative boundaries and exploring new directions, while always staying true to the timeless essence of electronic music that brought them together in the first place.

With their first release set for 2025 and plenty more music waiting to be shared, Novius is ready to make its mark on the global electronic music scene.
