Mangal Suvarnan (IN)
Mangal Suvarnan is an Indian- origin music producer, songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, DJ/ performer and avid gamer who has been creating fresh, high-energy tracks on autopilot in his home studio since 2009.
He specializes in creating electronic/ indie music, and more recently, Mangal has begun composing music for feature films and video games as well. He is also a hybrid performer, where he plays the bansuri flute during his DJ set, with his latest performance being the closing artist for KSHMR at Academy LA.
Born in Saudi Arabia, Mangal spent a substantial amount of his growing-up years in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. First discovered by Dutch artist Laidback Luke discovered that his music is a unique mix of
contemporary and traditional, thanks to his roots and Middle Eastern influences.
In 2016, Mangal was one of the only six artists to produce an official remix for Rihanna’s Billboard-topping song, ‘Consideration’ on Def Jam. He has collaborated with several renowned music artists, including the notable Grammy-nominated BT, with whom he has just released a track on the most recent album – ‘The Lost Art of Longing’. Mangal has had multiple
collaborations with Laidback Luke; the critically acclaimed Maor Levi; and the maverick from Hungary - Myon, among others.
His most prestigious collaboration has been with Pulitzer Prize-winning New York Times journalist Ian Urbina on a music EP to raise awareness about piracy on the high seas. In 2022, he collaborated with the video game industry’s most pertinent developers – Riot Games – to create
a title song for their game Valorant’s new Indian- origin character – Harbour.
The song ‘I am the Raja’ is a joint venture with musical powerhouse ‘Arb4’ and Indian rapper Tiennas. His second release on Def Jam was a remix track for Alessia Cara – ‘Out of Love’. In 2017, he released my first EP, ‘Winds of Destiny’ on Armada Music, featuring four progressive electronic
songs. In 2020, Mangal released several singles on Ride Recordings, a sub-label of Black Hole Recordings, run by Myon (Mario Egeto).
He has enjoyed support from some of the biggest names in electronic music, including Armin Van Buuren, Above & Beyond, Pete Tong, and Cosmic Gate. His music spans multiple industries - including film. In 2018, he wrote and produced a title song for a feature film, Who. The song “Who Are You” became an instant hit among audiences, earning an impressive 100,000 views in the first 24 hours of release, and is enjoying over 1.4 million views, today.
He has also released a collaboration with Riot Games, where he co-produced a track for a playable character in their hit game "Valorant". The song "Raja" has over7 million plays on all platforms.
