Khadija El Kharraz Alami (NL)

Artist

Brussels based performance artist Khadija El Kharraz Alami, graduated from the Utrecht School of the Arts (HKU) in 2014, already displaying a distinctive artistic vision that would define her career. From the beginning, her work has been deeply socially engaged, weaving this commitment throughout her storytelling and artistic practice. Her graduation solo De Sterkste (The Strongest) earned a nomination at the It's Festival, marking the start of a trajectory that would see her become one of the most compelling voices in contemporary performance art.

Drawing inspiration from Angela Davis, her practice is an ongoing attempt to construct a liberatory human being. In her work she focuses on research, education, experimentation, and craftsmanship as essential elements of social engagement. Through performance art, she proposes alternative futures by creating new worlds, movements, and archetypes in the present moment. She illuminates voices, individuals, and communities that might otherwise remain unseen, portraying humanity's search for identity—and the beautiful failures inherent in that eternal pursuit.
