K-Alexi (US)

Deejay, producer, composer, K’ Alexi Shelby has been hailed as “Proper house music’s most prolific exponent at the moment." by DJ Mag. He is regarded as one of Chicago's early pioneers of House music and considered one of the key innovators of house and techno. He planted his house music seed in the early 80’s and has helped shape the true Chicago underground, house sound. Shortly after his passion bloomed so did a prolific music career that has spanned over 30 years. As a teen in the mid 80’s, K' Alexi developed friendships with Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy. The cultivation of his massive musical catalogue has overflowed into his albums and the three labels he heads up: K Klassik; a fusion of old skool meeting new, Black 13; the beautiful, raw, and sublime; and TecSoDeep, soulful acid grooves spinning together to infiltrate ear buds through musical personification. The music has led to legendary collaborations with artists such as The Pet Shop Boys, Derrick May, Larry Heard, Robert Owens, Felix da Housecat, Will Smith and hundreds of other and countless compilations. He is regarded and respected all over the world as a true underground house legend.
