Deviant Species (GB)
Deviant Species is Santos De Castro from Basque Country. Initially a drummer, he moved to London in the early 90's playing in rock, hip metal and industrial bands, including PIG. He switched to producing in the mid 90's and in 1997 formed Deviant Species, pioneering a darker side of Psytrance. The first EP 'Blind Summit' attracted much attention and secured Deviant Species a place in the South Africa 2000 Millenium which generated worldwide attention. Santos founded Ambivalent Records with the release of the second Deviant Species album 'The Quest for Balojax' in 2001 which established the act as one of the luminaries of the genre. In 2004 the much anticipated third album "In The Hands of the Randomiser" was released to rave reviews the world over. Since then Deviant Species has consistently released a string of high quality tracks on various compilations and most recently two EPs with Scorb on Trick Music.
