Chrissie Quast (NL)

Artist & Speaker

Chrissie (they/them) is a musician, musical director, sound engineer, and technical manager whose career moves fluidly between performaning guitar/synths/keys on tour as a musical director/musician for Naomi Sharon on Drake's label OVO (Octobers Very Own) and their career in sound and technical production in one of Amsterdams most relevant nightclubs Club RAUM.

Born and raised in Amsterdam, they studied pop guitar and keys at the Conservatory of Amsterdam before completing a master’s in electronic music at AEMA (Electronic Music Academy). After touring internationally as a professional musician, Chrissie became increasingly fascinated with sound itself — how it shapes spaces, communities, and the energy of the night.

That path led them into sound engineering, beginning at de School, one of Amsterdam’s most influential clubs, that took them under their wing while they first trained and started to build their name as a sound engineer. Their skills developed quickly, with a mentorship at Lo-Fi and hands-on experience mixing across genres — from experimental electronic sets to large-scale festival stages such as Rewire and for UK radio station NTS.

Afterde School closed, Chrissie stepped into a new chapter as Head of Sound and Technical Manager at Club RAUM, Amsterdam’s queer-run cultural venue. There, they now lead the technical direction of the club, working at the intersection of music, technology, and inclusivity. In this role, Chrissie continues to help shape the sonic identity of Amsterdam nightlife while contributing to its global reputation as a hub for forward-thinking club culture.
