With a history of 20 years in electronic dance music and several international dance hits under his belt Alex Kunnari is Finland's leading international DJ, but it does not end there: his achievements place him in the ranks of the world's DJ elite. Dance floors all over the planet have gone crazy for his hit productions. His latest creation, a co-production with a long time friend and collaborator Heikki L, is well on it's way to becoming an international hit. The massive song titled 'City of Sin' features the vocals of the multi-platinum selling American superstar, Joel Madden of Good Charlotte, and it was instantly picked up by one of the biggest EDM labels around, Ultra Music. Alex has broken all the records by a Finnish DJ. He has performed on the club island of Ibiza over 200 times, and rocks the crowds at the worlds greatest clubs on regular basis. He has performed at all of Ibiza's leading venues such as Amnesia, Eden, Es Paradis, Terrenal, Pacha, Space and in the season of 2008 he played at Privilege in front of over 10,000 clubbers when he was asked by Tiësto to play the opening set. He is the first Finnish DJ to be booked for the whole summer season to Ibiza's Space, the club that was just voted world's number one club in the Dj Magazine club poll. Before being booked there he hosted his own weekly Colors club night for two consecutive summers at another Ibiza location, the prestigious Es Paradis. His new song is not his first hit. He is still remembered for the incredible success he harvested with 'Lifter'; a hit that was hammered by Tiësto, Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Paul van Dyk, Judge Jules and many others in 2007. The song was played for a huge 8 weeks on Judge Jules BBC Radio 1, and was also featured in 'Tiësto’s Club Life', 'Armin van Buuren A State Of Trance' and 'Paul van Dyk Vonyc Sessions'. Up to this day Alex delivers a successful single after another. Originally playing under the alias ‘Modulation’, he had great success with his tune 'Darkstar', which peaked at number 11 in the UK Cool Cuts Chart in winter 2002, with support from all major DJ’s. Another huge hit under ‘Modulation’ was his tune 'Spirits' which achieved support from many big name artists, being heavily played back in 2003 by Judge Jules on his BBC Radio 1 show for an amazing 5 weeks, and supported by all the major DJs. Following on from his success under ‘Modulation Alex went onto produce music under his own name. 'Unstable', 'Breathe In', 'Eternity' and 'Lifter' followed. Like most of his productions they were released on one of the world’s most famous EDM labels, Black Hole Recordings, created by the world's number one DJ, Tiësto. In 2011 he released 'New Life', 'Helsinki', 'Lost', 'You & Me' (featuring Emma Lock) and 'Music'. And he shows no signs of slowing down, 'Taste The Sun' and 'Sweet Melody' (a collaboration with Jon Hall from the hit show 'Glee' now playing in the Vegas blockbuster Rock the Ages) set dance floors on fire all over the globe in 2012, and 'Bounce' was a massive hit in 2013. He has also provided his golden touch as a remixer for some of the biggest names in dance music, such as Tiësto, Paul van Dyk and Chicane. In addition to his sought after performances Alex has given Finland the nations leading club brand, Colors, and the largest electronic music event of Northern Europe, Summer Sound Festival. For the last 14 years the biggest DJs like Tiësto, David Guetta, Armin van Buuren, Markus Schulz, Paul van Dyk and countless others have performed in Colors events, and the club continues to bring the biggest and most exciting electronic dance music stars to the sold-out events in Helsinki.
