Ibukun “Aibee” Abidoye, Esq. is a Nigerian Music Business Executive. Trained as an attorney in New York, Aibee has logged several years of transactional experience, with particular focus on the music business. She is a recognized expert in the licensing, distribution and publishing of indigenous music content for film and television and has collaborated with platforms such as YouTube, 9Mobile and Apple Music in advancing the growth of the creative industries within Nigeria. She is an active advocate for the rights and recognition of Artists, Songwriters and Producers in the content value chain and is a vocal proponent for the need to restructure the Collection Management processes in Nigeria. In her current capacity, she sits as the first female Executive Vice President of Music at Chocolate City as well as the only female on the Board, following her involvement in the ground-breaking partnership between Warner Music Group and Chocolate City. She is also a Trustee on the Boards of Music Publishers Association of Nigeria, Record Labels Association of Nigeria, and Women in Music, Nigeria. She is the founder of The Nahla Initiative – an organization that seeks to bring awareness around gender inequality in the entertainment industry and provide opportunities for skills acquisition, human capital development, access and economic empowerment for young women. Their goal is to reach 500,000 young women in five (5) years.
