Abstracxion (FR)

Artist
Harold Boué aka Abstraxion is a French producer based in Marseille. He released at the end of 2013 his stunning debut LP Break of Lights on HAKT Recordings, and on Nicolas Jaar’s label Other People. He released at the end of 2014 a new EP I Can’t on HAKT and was invited in January 2015 to Tim Sweeney’s Beats In Space radio show (NYC), then released in April on Biologic records Origami EP, in collaboration with Kasper Bjørke. Abstraxion has already played in the best clubs of Europe as a DJ and with his live audio and video opening also for DARKSIDE (Nicolas Jaar & David Harrington). In November 2014 he launched LAB, a series of bi-monthly Cartes Blanches in Marseille. So far, the LAB parties have invited John Talabot, Levon Vincent, Axel Boman, Chloé, Massimiliano Pagliara, Tama Sumo and Roman Flügel Abstraxion co-manages with Belgium DJ and producer DC Salas the Biologic Records label - which celebrates in 2016 its 10th anniversary with a new series of releases. Among them, Abstraxion’s EP Resonance in January, with remixes from Matrixxman, Massimiliano Pagliara & Fort Romeau. Always a singular character with an ear for sound, Abstraxion has built a music studio in Marseille with old analogic instruments. He spends his time there making electronic music that is as explorative and organic as possible. «I’ve built a system in my studio where I can spontaneously compose with all my instruments.» As a next step, Abstraxion will release in 2016 his second LP She Thought She Would Last Forever, mixed by Francis Harris (Scissor & Thread, Adultnapper) and on which he already received support from his inspirations/ mentors Dan Snaith (Caribou) & John Talabot. Full of reveries and hybrid explorations, this work reveals songs titles more on the dystopian end of things but music itself has a real optimism to it. That’s what this album is about - failed ambitions, failed ideals, exploring the tension between expectation and reality - such as in the tracks She Thought She Would Last Forever, Just What I Always Wanted, An Error Occurred and Needed You featuring Isaac Delusion’s singer. A remixes LP will also be released, including mixes from Clarian, Eduardo De La Calle, Vessels, INITS, Ripperton & more. For this LP, a strong visual atmosphere will be created with music videos shot in the forests by directors Friedrich van Schoor and Tarek Mawad, and a specific setting for a A/V live designed by digital artist Jem the Misfit. For this new live, Abstraxion will perform alone on stage for the first time, exploring further his house & techno side.
