Speakers: Jarreau Vandal (Artist), Mondesir (Artist), Fantison Araby O’Bryan (Artist)
Blending tradition with innovation, Jarreau Vandal steps into ADE its Culture Hub on the ADE Saturday, for a live exploration of Kawina, the vibrant Surinamese genre whose infectious rhythms have influenced generations. Together with artist Mondesir, he will dive into the art of sampling, showing how traditional percussion, chants and melodic structures from Kawina can be reimagined within modern electronic production.
Known for his soulful, rhythm-driven sound and his deep connection to heritage and community, Jarreau Vandal will break down his process live on stage - joined by the TNO Soundsystem - recording, layering and reshaping elements of Kawina into new forms that bridge cultural roots with contemporary club sounds.
Come get a glimpse into how cultural identity can inspire creative evolution, revealing how history, rhythm and technology can come together in the studio to create something entirely new.
