Carl Cox: From Decks to Live Sets

With decades of experience at the forefront of dance music, playing all over the world and pivoting from the decks to live sets, the one and only Carl Cox joins ADE Lab 2022 for an intimate session on ADE Saturday. Curious how he does it? The legend himself comes in with a bang and takes you inside his live setup to explain what type of hardware serves which purpose during his performances and during the creation of his first record in over ten years, ‘Electronic Generations’.

Being inspired by Berlin's club culture and techno scene, she's taken that feeling of community to her residencies at clubs as DC10 in Ibiza and Nits in Barcelona. She tells us all about club culture during the first live recording of Scuba's 'Not A Diving Podcast' at ADE. Combining psychology with juicy topics in the industry, Scuba's podcast documents dance music history in a fun and informative way.

Oliver Heldens is not only well-known under his own name, he has his popular Hi-Lo alias to dive into deeper and harder tones that explore futuristic techno. From a day of everything Metaverse and Web3 with Armada, and an audiovisual collaboration with Nxt AiR on ADE Wednesday, to a gear-focused ADE Thursday with the 'KiNK workshop by Roland' and 'The Live Setup of Joachim Pastor'; ADE Lab has something in store for all electronic music aficionados who love to get involved.

On ADE Wednesday, vinyl virtuoso Van Anh breaks down the tricks of her trade with you. The Amsterdam-based DJ shares all her hard-earned knowledge in the hands-on workshop 'How to Perform on Vinyl with Van Anh'. The first-ever Spanish headliner of Tomorrowland B Jones dives deep into the songs that first sparked her love for electronic music on stage. During her intimate ADE Lab session ‘The Soundtrack of B Jones’, we’ll find out what her world sounds and feels like. Among those joining the program on ADE Thursday are Kerri Chandler, with an in-depth session: 'Sound Manipulation & Portable Creation'. 'The Godfather of Hardstyle’ The Prophet gives insight into the legacy he hopes to leave behind, with an exclusive talk called 'From the Hard & Into the Future with DJ The Prophet',following up on the news that he is retiring from the stage.

Besides the Gear Test Lab that's open for business all day, make sure to visit the keynote 'How Did House Become So White - Towards a Fully Inclusive Industry' on ADE Friday, that opens the much-needed discussion of how to make the electronic music scene and industry more inclusive. In the masterclass 'The Art of Demo Pitching' on ADE Saturday, Tessa Butler, Creative Manager at Kobalt Music Publishing, teaches you all tricks of the demo pitching trade. The high speed course includes topics such genres and themes of today, creating the best songs possible, and do's and don'ts of pitching.
