Martin Talbot is chief executive of the Official Charts Company, providers of the most accurate intelligence charts / data for music & video industries in the UK, Ireland and France. Talbot joined Official Charts in October 2007, following several years as editor of Music Week, before which he worked for various publications including the European industry mag “fono” (as launch editor), the NME and Hackney Gazette. In 15 years at the Official Charts, Talbot has overseen a fundamental rebrand, the relaunch of OfficialCharts.com as a consumer site attracting up to 3m visitors a month, the launch of the world renowned Official Number 1 Award, the integration of audio and video streams into the Official Charts and the company’s expansion into France and Ireland. His favourite music acts range from Soulwax, Orbital, LCD Soundsystem, Stevie Wonder and Prince, to Joni Mitchell, Crosby Stills & Nash, Laura Marling, Midlake and Low.
