Martien V (NL)

Dj Martien V. (Martien Verheyden) was born and raised in Amsterdam. Her life has been one long musical journey. She grew up with music in the classical genre. As a kid she played the piano and drums for many years. Soon she developped a great passion for electronic music in general, and particularly for house music. She still has a great preference fo the sound of Chicago and Detroit, 2 cities where the founders of house and techno came from, and ‘oldskool’ acid house. Martien says she was very lucky to participate the beginning of housemusic in Amsterdam from within the famous clubs as Roxy and iT, where the pioneers of the Dutch dance-scene had their first successes. Looking back at that inspiring period, her deep passion for housemusic has started there..
