Jamie Behan (IE)

Artist
Widely acknowledged as the godfather of the techno scene in his home city of Cork, Jamie Behan has been a stalwart of the Irish techno scene for a well over a decade. He has made his name through his rapidfire style of mixing and consistently quality DJ Sets, headlining clubnights across Ireland and beyond in the UK, Holland, Germany, Belgium, Spain, Bahrain, and Croatia, promoting including notable appearances at Dimensions Festival, Aquarius in Zagreb, and Corsica Studios in London. He is also the promoter and resident DJ at Ieland's longest-running techno night 'Bastardo Electrico', and manages the respected record label of the same name. Behan's DJ sets refuse to be pigeon-holed into a particular sound, incorporating diverse strains of techno and house, twisted together into a dark, mutant groove. He has showcased this eclectic fusion of sound through his own productions, which have appeared on labels such as Nice and Nasty, Static, and of course Bastardo Electrico, receiving support and plaudits from techno and house afficionados alike. Now in 2015, Behan is focusing his efforts on studio work and bringing his sound in a darker direction than previously explored, alongside an increasingly hectic DJ schedule and a series of releases forthcoming on Bastardo Electrico Recordings including a collaboration between Behan and Subject Detroit artist Trench entitled "The Architects", which is due for release in 2016.
