AlphaState ()

AlphaState (or αState) is a start-up that aims to bring producers and their audiences together during live electronic music performances with the aid of mobile technology in ways that were previously impossible. AlphaState technology lets an artist give control of specific parameters of the performance (a filter cutoff, the bpm, mix levels ... anything) over to the audience so that they can manipulate these on the fly. This input technology is combined with a video projection of the state of activity of the audience in order to provide not only the audio feedback from the producer but also a visual feedback of the state of the audience. These things, together, form a rich feedback loop for the audience. The goal is for this feedback loop to induce in the audience a state of spontaneous shared consciousness or Alpha State. This creates a truly shared and unique experience for both the public and the artist.
