Psyko Punkz

Psyko Punkz

n the middle of Holland in a recording studio, the Psyko Punkz (known individually as Sven Sieperda and Wietse Amersfoort) can be found hard at work, pushing the boundaries of their dark, signature sound. No one could have imagined what was in store for this Dutch duo when the two first met by chance at a party and discovered that they shared a mutual love and appreciation for electronic music, and more specifically, the hardstyle genre. Upon joining forces, the two were quickly signed to the Belgian label, Dirty Workz, and they began performing live dj sets at some of the largest and most well-known events including Qlimax, Hardbass, Defqon 1, Decibel, Reverze, and their bookings have taken them all over the world, including stops across the U.S., Australia, and the United Kingdom. With their earliest releases dating back to 2008, their relentless dedication has not gone unnoticed, earning them the respect and adoration of the hardstyle community and its fans. The Psyko Punkz have gained notoriety for their collaborative works with artists such as Headhunterz, Noisecontrollers and Coone and they've been chosen to remix artists like Isaac, Alpha Twins, Technoboy and Tuneboy and more. With hard work comes great rewards, and in 2010 they won "NR1 Track of the Year" at the Fear FM Awards for their tune "BassBoom", which currently has over 3 million views and counting on YouTube. Also that year, they took home the "Best New Talent" category at the UK HardDance Awards before steamrolling through 2011, where they ranked at #78 out of the prestigious DJMAG Top 100. One thing is for certain, the bar for Hardstyle has been raised, and the Psyko Punkz are largely responsible. The future promises to remain bright for these two, as they continue the evolution of their production style while providing fans with a phenomenal live show that never ceases to entertain.
