We present two live acts who fuse the acoustic with the electronic: Bada-Bada, from Paris, and Siema Ziemia, from Poznań.
Bada-Bada from Paris originated from improvised sessions inspired by electronica, minimal music and progressive jazz. In the case of Bada-Bada, the whole is obviously more than the sum of its parts: every member plays both acoustic and electronic instruments, sometimes even simultaneously. Alongside EPs and singles, Bada-Bada has released spectacular dance videos on YouTube.
Siema Ziemia freely takes from genres with roots in club culture, such as techno, footwork, juke and electronica, combining them with jazz improvisation. The four members connect their skills on sax, guitar, bass and drums with a producer’s approach to transgress sonic borders. The young Polish band has already been discovered by Spotify and the BBC. This fall will see the release of their new album Second on the Byrd Out label.
